The Pietá

By~Michelangelo Buonarroti

Current location~ St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City

The Pietá is significant because it shows the beauty and the fact that Mary was so young. It also symbolizes that Jesus was in his mothers hands after his crucification.

In my opinion this piece of art is very interesting b it shows that Mary took care of Jesus after he dies and that she cared about him.

The Pietá exemplifies individualism because the people that killed Jesus did not think of Jesus's feelings or the pain that Mary was going to go through when they killed her only son, they only though that they were right and that they needed to take Jesus out of their way.
