Broadband Discount
Help us spread the word - New federal broadband discount for students and families!
Dear school or district leader:
I am writing to share information about a new, temporary federal program to help eligible families pay for internet service during the pandemic. If you have students whose families are struggling to afford their monthly internet service, the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program) may be able to help. Visit GetEmergencyBroadband.org for more information.
Who is eligible?
Households with a child who is approved to receive free or reduced price meals under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP), including children who attend schools participating in U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), are eligible for the EBB Program. I encourage you to review the enclosed frequently asked questions (FAQs) and spread the word to your eligible families.
How can you help spread the word?
As trusted community members, schools and districts are well-positioned to share information about this important program. In addition to conducting any EBB Program outreach to eligible families, schools and districts can take steps to help families navigate the sign-up process. Along with the FAQs, enclosed you will find strategies for school and district outreach. An outreach toolkit with adaptable, accessible outreach materials and the enclosed letter and FAQ document are also available on our website at tech.ed.gov/broadband/ebb.
Thank you for helping us spread the word and keep students and families connected and learning.
Summer School Updates
Students can only take courses in summer school that they previously failed. This year summer school will be held:
Wednesday, June 9 through July 29, 2021
Tuesday-Thursday
8:00AM-12:00PM
Students will not report to the school, but rather work from home. All summer school classes will be offered virtually in Odysseyware.
We strongly encourage you to have your student participate. Being on track for graduation is our goal for each and every student. To register for summer school, please complete the google survey below and express which course(s) your child wishes to enroll into. This survey should be completed by Friday, May 21st.

Please note: this list does not include courses that your student is currently taking this semester. Your student is in danger of failing the following courses:
We are also allowing students to test out of a class on June 9 from 8AM-12PM at the Learning Center. ● This is only for students who have previously taken and failed to earn credit in a course.
● If a student passes the exam, they will be given credit for that course and will not have to take it again. ● Interested students can reserve their spot by completing the survey below by 5/21. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.

Technology Tips - Prepping for Device Returns
With the end of the school year approaching, here are some pointers to help you with device collection coming soon.
Each building will communicate device return dates and details with families.
Please return ALL components that were checked out to your student, such as: Chromebook, iPad, hotspot, chargers, protective iPad case, zipper carrying case
Missing your charger? Take the time to look for it before the return date. There is a fee of $25 for missing chargers ($20 for iPad chargers).
Device damaged? Please return it even with the damage. It is better to return the damaged device than to consider it lost. Many of the repair costs are very reasonable. It is much cheaper to repair the damage than to replace the device.
Do you have a hotspot? That will need to be returned as well, including the charger.
What if your student will be attending summer school? ALL devices will be collected and devices will be distributed for summer school as needed.
