Author and Illustrator Chris Van Dusen
Author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen will visit Doyle on May 17th and meet with students in grades K-3.Doyle readers are familiar with his work in books like President Taft is Stuck in the Bath and the Mecry Watson series. What a treat it will be to meet him in May!
His newest book, Hattie & Hudson, tells the story of friendship, acceptance, and sticking up for those who are different. Van Dusen's books use a rhyming structure and are full of rich vocabulary, making them lots of fun to read aloud. His illustrations are vivid and full of detail.
Thanks to Miss Ellen at Booktenders' for bringing Mr. Van Dusen to our school and offering his books at a discounted rate. All book orders are due to Mrs. Herwig in the library by Thursday, April 27th.

Report Card Survey: Last Chance!
Dear Central Bucks Elementary Community,
The Elementary Report Card Committee has been working since June to recommend new report cards in grades 1 through 6 for next school year. The drafts have been completed and we would like your feedback on them. You can view the report cards by clicking here. We have also included a Frequently Asked Questions document that may be helpful to you. The principal at your child’s school would also be able to answer any questions may have.
Once you have reviewed the report cards, please provide feedback through a short (2-minute) survey. The Committee will review this feedback and plans to present final report cards to the School Board in May for their approval.
I am extremely grateful to the members of the Report Card Committee for their hard work in developing these report cards and I appreciate, in advance, your feedback on them.
As of August 2017, a student must have all immunizations completed within the first 5 days of school.
If the student is in the middle of a series and it is too soon for the next dose, parents must provide the school nurse with a plan for immunizations (signed by a health care provider) within the first 5 days. If the student has incomplete immunizations and no medical plan, the student will be excluded from school.
You may check your child’s school immunization record by logging onto the parent portal through the district website at www.cbsd.org or by consulting with your child’s physician.
