  • What happens to the body? The spinal column of the fetus does not close completely during pregnancy.
  • What part of the body does it generally affect? Brain, spine, spinal cord.

MTHFR: provides instructions for making protein that is involved in processing the vitamin folate.

Can be found in ultrasound, or later in life

Description of the Symptoms:

  • They vary in different individuals. Examples include learning disabilities, urinary and bowel problems, or hydrocephalus
