The Plant City Star
Always Bringing Herbaceous Stories
A PLANTER'S DAILY QUESTION
Do your plants have one food storage area? Are the petals in threes? Do your leaves look long and slender? Are the veins parallel? Are the vascular tube structures scattered?
If So... You, my friend, have a monocotyledon.
If I'm Wrong... You have a dicotyledon.
Monocot
Do you see the petals? They're in groups of three. How radiant?!^
Nonvascular Plants Are In This Season
Nonvascular plants don't transport water and food through a stem. They have no circulatory systems actually. Look at how the moss grows on the waterfalls. Moss is a great plant to be in your summer garden. (NO WATER NEEDED!!!)
Plant Parts
The male part of the plant, a.k.a. the stamen, consists of the anther and the filament. The female part of the plant, also known as the pistil, is made of the sticky stigma, the style, ovary, and ovule.
