Facts about children in the coal mines and harsh conditions
- Children called "Putters" pushed trucks of coal for miles through the tunnels
- There were also children that were called "Trappers" and they would open and close woodend doors so that fresh air could pass through
- In the coal mines it was very dark and you could barley breath
- The children would often work in cramped positions and most children becamed deformed and suffered bent backs for the posittions they were in all day
