We are here to do good things for our students, our coworkers, and our community.
We represent qualities such as caring, sharing, connection, integrity, and excellence.
Our culture mirrors those attributes. Let’s continue to make our school the best place to work and learn where everyone is inspired to be the best they can be. What we do, we do well.
Let’s keep the courage to shape a better future for our students.

A Note from Deputy Jesse
Hello all,
I've been doing my best to be at each school a couple of times a week and have noticed some things about the Cross Walks and I wanted to share!
When we have a cross walk available, we need to utilize it. It is extremely important that it be utilized. Below is a very simple way to describe MI State Law when it comes to our Cross Walks.
In Michigan, vehicles must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians within a crosswalk that are in the same half of the roadway as the vehicle or when a pedestrian is approaching closely enough from the opposite side of the roadway to be in danger. Pedestrians may not suddenly leave the curb and enter a crosswalk into the path of a moving vehicle that is so close the vehicle is unable to yield. Pedestrians must yield the right-of-way to vehicles when crossing outside of a marked crosswalk at an intersection.
As you can see from this description, Pedestrians shall yield the right of way to vehicles when not utilizing a cross walk, however, vehicles shall yield the right of way to Pedestrians already in a cross walk. My biggest goal in being a School Resource Officer is the safety and well being of all of these kids.
We are seeing an increase in the amount of vehicle drop offs as well as parents walking their kids into school. I understand given the year we have had, this is what people would prefer and that is okay! I just want us to make sure we keep safety as our priority!
Also, one more comment about our safety practices in the parking lot. When dropping off your children, I ask that you please do your best to have them on the passenger side closest to the curb. This is due to cars leaving the line from the rear and driving past the vehicles still actively dropping off their children. Overall, I have not seen too much of this, but I just wanted to send it out as a reminder!
At the end of the day, this has been a challenging year for our teachers, but also for you, the parents. I appreciate the patience you all are having as we are trying to work out all the kinks with traffic. We have seen great improvement in just one week so I know it is just going to get better! Please, never hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments or concerns!

Teacher Appreciation
Do you have some fun ideas on ways to celebrate our teachers? Do you own a business or know of one that is willing to work with our PTA to help spoil our teachers? Are you creative and want to help with labels, signs, etc? May is fast approaching and that means Teacher Appreciation Week is right around the corner! I am looking for some parents to work with me on coming up with a theme and organizing the week of May 3-7. It is fun to run ideas by other people so if you have been looking to get involved this is a great opportunity. If interested, please contact Audra Crandell crandella@hotmail.com
