April is National Poetry Month!
Stonybrook Mediaplex
The Mediaplex is celebrating by having a Poetry Contest for grades 5-8. Winners will receive a free book from the upcoming Book Fair!
Contest Guidelines:
1. Write a Limerick that you created.
2, Limericks are five lines long.
3. Lines 1, 2, & 5 rhyme with one another.
4. Lines 3 & 4 rhyme with each other.
5. Limericks have a distinctive rhythm:
da Dum da da Dum da da Dum
da Dum da da Dum da da Dum
da Dum da da Dum
da Dum da da Dum
da Dum da da Dum da da Dum
6. Limericks should be funny!
7. Deadline - All Limerick poems need to be turned in to the Mediaplex by the end of the school day on Thursday, April 21.
8. Three winners from each grade level will be announced the morning of Friday, April 22.
