Ms. Lee's Classroom News

November 13, 2015

Take Note...

I had about 5 kids without their FRIDAY JOURNALS today (some for several weeks now). Please take the time to read the letters your kids write on Fridays. They get SOOO excited when you write them back!

Please make sure your child has a hoodie or jacket in their backpack for recess. It has been pretty chilly outside in the mornings and lots of kids in our class have colds! *Germ-X time!!

READING LOGS are worth 8 points each week! These points add up quickly (or get deducted quickly)! We average about 8 kids each week not turning them in. This can really hurt your child's Reading grade.

"I CAN"

This section of the newsletter will highlight what we have learned this week!

READING: I CAN ask questions before, during, and after my reading.

WRITING: I CAN write, keeping my audience in mind.

SPELLING: I CAN spell my core words this week: into, has, more, her, and two.

LANGUAGE: I CAN use the articles a, an, and the correctly.

MATH: I CAN use a variety of strategies when solving addition story problems with totals up to 45 and record my work.

SOCIAL STUDIES: I CAN describe the clothing and work of the Plains Indians.
