2015 Convention Project Announced
Masonic Home for Children, Oxford (MHCO), located in Oxford, NC, will benefit from the generosity of Eta State members this year. The Convention Arrangements Committee has announced that donations to the home will be the convention project.
MHCO’s goal is to help children who need a stable, caring and loving home. There are
currently 53 residents, ranging from 3 years to college age. There is a Wish List on the website www.mhc-oxford.org for your convenience. According to the site, “Gift Cards help our Home and lives and care of the children. Increments of any amount are welcome and encouraged.”
The Convention Arrangements Committee respectfully suggests that Region X provide
gift cards to Cracker Barrel. Other options are Belk, JC Penney, Target or Lowes. Over half of the children are age 13 and over, so providing for the teenage population is the home’s
greatest need. If you would like to make a donation see Lindsay or Connie to deliver to
convention.

TECH TIP
Artsonia is the world’s largest kids’ art museum with over 31 million pieces
of student artwork on display. Uploading images of 2– or 3-D artwork is
free and helps boost the self-esteem of students seeing their work online!
Friends and family members of the students can view the artwork, join fan
clubs and leave personal comments for the artists. Families can purchase
custom keepsakes with their child’s artwork (mugs, t-shirts, mouse pads,
coasters, note cards and more), and schools earn 15% of the purchases!
Participation is completely free for teachers, students, and schools. In addition, there are over 5,000 lesson plans online, created by teachers, searchable by keywords, media, subject or grade level. The museum is open for students in grades pre-school through high school and is not just for art teachers!
