Aledo ISD National Prescription Drug Take Back Event Oct. 23
The Aledo ISD Police Department and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will provide the public the opportunity to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Vandagriff Elementary.
The Aledo ISD participates in this event regularly, and this October’s event is the DEA’s 19th nationwide event since its inception 10 years ago.
To keep everyone safe, local COVID-19 guidelines and regulations will be followed.
Symptomatic? Please stay home
Please remember to keep your student home if they have COVID-19 symptoms so we can stop the spread and lower the number of students who have to quarantine because of exposure. COVID-19 symptoms include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Cold & Flu Season Approaching
Students who are ill and not feeling well with cold and flu-like symptoms also should not attend school. If your child is out with a cold or the flu, the district certainly does not expect the student to continue to engage in learning. The district would prefer that the student recover and, when the student feels better, re-engage in learning. So, the district will treat any absence due to actual student illness as it usually does, and will permit the student to make up the work missed. Hopefully, this process will be easier than usual for students and parents given that work will be available in the learning management system.
