Characteristics of Life

Living things keep stable conditions inside the body.

Homeostasis is a living thing's desire to keep things in balance. Living things do not their inside environment to be too hot or too cold. They do not want it to be too salty or acidic. We need things to stay at right levels to make sure life can happen.

Plant Example

Some plants have to deal with periods of little rainfall. To survive, the plant has to keep the right amount of water in its cells. Even their structures help make sure this happens.

Humans are animals. Our internal body parts require JUST the right temperature... 98.6 degrees F. Too hot or too cold and that could mean doom, Doom, DOom, DOOm, DOOM!!!!!!
