SES Dolphin News
January 8, 2021
Dear Stafford Elementary Community,
Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Winter Break and a safe New Year.
As you have probably already read from Dr. Kizner's emailed letter today, Friday, January 8, SCPS will extend virtual online learning for all students the week of January 11-15, 2021.
The only students who should be coming to the building next week are the students who have been accessing the Internet Café, and those students who come to school for face-to-face learning with Plan C IEPs.
Therefore the schedule will be the following:
- Monday - Asynchronous learning with Morning Meeting
- Tuesday and Wednesday - Group A students will log on to their Google Meets from 8-11 a.m.; Group B students will log on from 1-3 p.m.
- Thursday and Friday - Group B students will log on to their Google Meets from 8-11 a.m.; Group A students will log on from 1-3 p.m.
- Specials will still continue as normally scheduled.
There will be no school on Monday, January 18, as it is Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Therefore, on Tuesday, January 19, we are hoping that all students will return to their regular schedule with in-person classes. However, please note that additional adjustments can be made to the schedule, per SCPS, if necessary.
When we return to our normal schedule, please remember to review the COVID questionnaire each day before sending your child to the bus stop or bringing them to school. If you can answer yes to any of the questions, please keep your child at home and contact our school nurse, Marisol Maltes @ 540.658.6340. Together we can continue to keep our school, students, and staff safe during this pandemic.
Also, we want to remind everyone that we continue to practice COVID mitigation procedures of wearing masks while on school board property and within the building, staying 6 feet apart, washing hands or using hand sanitizer when sinks are not available, not touching our faces, and staying home when we are not feeling well. By continuing these practices we keep each other safe.
Stay healthy and safe!

Car Rider Arrival and Dismissal
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we take the temperatures of the children as they leave your cars. The thermometers get very finicky in the cold weather. We are grateful to everyone who has been understanding and kind.
It is always safer to let the children out on the passenger side of the car. This way the children are directly out of the line of traffic and safe on the sidewalk.
Our car rider staff will head back into the building at 8 a.m. Therefore, if you pull up to the car rider drop off at 8 a.m. or later, you will need to park and walk your child to the front doors to sign them in.
For dismissal, please make sure your car tag is up and visible to help the line move smoothly.
Please remember to keep an eye out for the signals of our car rider staff. They will alert you when and where to move, when you can pass cars, or if you should wait for the cars to move. We want to keep all of our families safe.
Meal Service during Virtual Learning & Martin L. King Day Updates
