River Mill Elementary Weekly Newsletter- Sept. 18th
Dear River Mill Families,
Our community has come together is such an amazing way during this time. If you are in need of anything, do not hesitate to ask and we will point you in the right direction to help meet your needs. I would like to again thank all the volunteers, emergency people, firemen, police, and people who have supported others in many different ways.
Our plan is to start back with Comprehensive Distance Learning on Monday. This week starting on Sept. 21st- 24th will be a SOFT START. This means that we will spend these 4 days, making connections, building relationships, working out technology bugs, and making sure everyone has what they need to start full academics the following week. If you are still displaced or not able to access Distance Learning that is okay. We are here to support you through that. If you miss school we will check-in and see what we can do to support you. Meal delivery will begin again on Monday as well.
Pre-K families, we will also be open for school starting on Monday. The M/T and W/Th classes will be in the building thanks to our maintenance crew working hard to get our building ready for kids over the weekend. If you can't make it to school because of your current situation that is ok, we are here for you when you are ready. If anything changes with the air quality and we don't feel it is at a safe level we will let you know asap on the status of school in the building.
We are also working on our plan to bring students back to the building. Kindergarten through 3rd grade may get to come back soon in our hybrid model because the number of COVID cases has gone down and stayed down for a few weeks now. We are going to be ready to go once we get the green light, so please let your student's teacher know if you would like to have your student back in the building for hybrid learning. For 4th grade and 5th grade students, we can bring in a limited number of students now. So we may be contacting you for a 2-hour window of time that we can bring your student in for in-person learning soon.
Please know that we are here for you and do not hesitate to reach out for anything. Enjoy the blue sky, sunshine, and the weekend.
Stay safe,
Jennifer Behrman
