Principal's Update
April 10, 2020 - Remote Learning Newsletter #4
Below are resources and information regarding NCCS Emergency Instructional Plan
Saints Community,
Easter blessings to you and your family on this Good Friday. My prayer continues to be that our students, their families, and our staff, are healthy and have peace through the love of our Savior. This is a precious time. It is a time when the Lord is speaking clearly to us as followers of Christ, calling us to trust him, have hope, and share his goodness with others.
This week I sent an email updating our EIP for Remote Learning through May 29. If you have not read it fully, please do so at your earliest convenience.
I want to thank you for feedback that is coming through our various surveys, from both students (from teachers) and parents. Please continue to take a few minutes and answer the questions so we can take into consideration the perceptions and ideas that you may offer. This week's survey (link) for parents is found just below this message.
Please be aware that there is another Curriculum Pick Up day on Monday, April 13, 9 am-1 pm, and alternating Monday's in the future as needed. What are Saints up to during Remote Learning?
Girl's Quartet Practices Virtually
Here is our first attempt at virtual choir. These ladies are amazing. We are learning a lot. We are starting small with the quartets and building towards a full choir piece. It is a very appropriate song in today’s situation, as well as the Andrew sisters used it during war time.
It makes me feel like we are moving towards something really great and not hopeless at all.
I love these kids so much. We are finding a way to still live out our purpose and be unified and leave it all on the stage. This is just not a stage we had imagined, right?
Hoping to bring some hope and joy to lighten these days! Enjoy! More to come soon!
These kids are wonderful and Kelly (Director's assistant) and her tech savvy husband Geoff have been a lot of incredible help figuring this out.
-Mrs. Steele (Choir Director)
Jack, 8th grade, set up in his new learning space at home.
Danny, 1st grade, works on his daily lessons.
Hadden, 12th grade, receives a special gift from his teachers.
Help is here! Read about the "To-Do" feature on Google Classroom
Mr. Hordichok has created a short video on how to take advantage of the "To-Do" feature on Google Classroom. This will allow students to get a snapshot view of all assignments. This is valuable for these reasons:
- See a list of all assignments from multiple classes in one place
- Catch any missing assignments or assignments you have forgotten about
How-To-Video Link: Click
Hope this helps! Please contact Mr. Hordichok if you have any questions about technology for remote learning. He is more than willing to help you. His Phone: 503-381-0934 and Email: andrew_hordichok@ncchristianschool.com.
