Embarking On The Month Of Thanks
With November being known as the time for giving and thanks, Falcon Nation is reflecting on the relationships that offer support and guidance, as well as help build moments of #excellence. Our student successes are non-existent without the behind-the-scenes work from staff, parents and community members. We are grateful for the continuous #trueNorth support as we embark on the opportunities and experiences that await us in this month of thanks.

A Word From Principal Jung
Falcon Nation,
The cold weather is here! I hope everyone is enjoying the change in season. Remember to adjust your clocks this Sunday. We are just a few short weeks from Thanksgiving Break! I know everyone is ready for some quality time with family and loved ones.
I did want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate our Pride of Falcon Nation Band! They qualified for the UIL State Competition for the first time in school history! Our Falcons will be competing Monday, November 4th in San Antonio, Texas. Thank you to our coaches, teachers, staff, football players, administrators, parents, and district leaders who were out to support our Falcons at Area competition. This is the spirit of #trueNorth #empower!
As we are in the middle of the year, it is important to remind all students and parents that attendance is key to success and staying plugged into school. Compulsory attendance law requires that students attend their classes 90% of the time the class is offered in order to receive credit. Students must earn credits to receive a high school diploma. Students, please make sure you are on time to all classes.
Best of luck to our POFN band at UIL State and our Lady Falcon volleyball team as they begin their playoff run Tuesday, November 5th against Ennis!
Michael Jung
Proud Principal of NFHS

#excellence - Practicing With Parents
During our previous Coffee with the Principal, Mr. Jung, staff and parents experienced a restorative circle. This year, teachers are slowly starting to integrate this practice into their classrooms to build stronger relationships with students.
#empower - Criminal Justice Experiences
Ms. Bates' Criminal Justice students attended the Criminal Justice Expo at UNT Dallas on Friday, Oct. 25. The students were able to explore careers within the criminal justice field, network with industry professionals and even made it on Fox 4 News.
#educate - FRECK For Review
Ms. Jones utilized the engaging FRECK method while helping her students review for an upcoming US History test. Creating a comfortable classroom full of participation is a priority in maintaining #trueNorth expectations.

Forney ISD 2019 Bond
With Forney ISD expected to grow by more than 8,500 students by 2029 – an increase of over 70 percent – the Forney ISD Board of Trustees and District administrators commissioned an Innovative School Facilities Planning Committee to develop a comprehensive bond package to help us better manage this rapid growth.
Their work led the Innovative School Facilities Planning Committee to recommend a comprehensive $623 million bond package to prepare Forney ISD for our fast growth in student enrollment. The Forney ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved this recommendation May 29. Voters in the district can vote for the bond Tues., November 5.
