Mill Creek East and the Little Cadets Preschool are so excited about welcoming back our students for the 2023-2024 school year! Our custodial and maintenance staff have been busy all summer getting the building ready for their return. When you visit, check out the new wallpaper in our hallways! Our teachers have prepared their classrooms so they are inviting and ready to begin the school year. In kindergarten we have Mrs. vonEhrenkrook, Mrs. Janney, and Mrs. Trump. First grade is Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Johnson, and Mr. Smith. Teaching 2nd grade is Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Foster, and Ms. Sesslar. Our third grade team is Mrs. Wheeler, Miss Huffman, and Miss Sinks. Fourth grade will be led by Mrs. Goodwine and Mrs. Toland. And in fifth grade we have Mrs. Brame, Mrs. L. Hall, and Miss Powell. Our specials team is returning with Mr. Crosby, Miss Burch, Ms. Magnaye, Mrs. Latta, and Mrs. McClure. Our support teachers include Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Tannehill, Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. K. Hall, and Mrs. Dinsmore. Mrs. Alspaugh, our counselor, is back again too! Our Little Cadets will be led again this year by Mrs. J. Hall, Mrs. Cook, and Mrs. Hearon. We have the best team around at East and are excited to begin the year!

We still have a few seats open in our Little Cadets Community Preschool. Please help us spread the word!

If you have driven by MCE you probably noticed that the three trees have been taken down in preparation for our new playground in our front lot. The playground construction is slated to begin in August! We will also be planting six new trees to replace the three removed in the area. Watch for updates to come!

The annual MCE Walk-a-Thon will be held on Thursday, September 28th! We are looking for business sponsors to help us. The funds raised from this event will help us create our MCE STEM lab! The room is ready it's just waiting for all things STEM to come! At MCE we know we are preparing our students today for jobs that haven't been created yet so we want to give them the best opportunities available. Mrs. Brame was our 2022-2023 MCE Teacher of the Year! Last year Mrs. Brame taught our 4th/5th high ability classroom. This year she will be teaching our 5th grade content area and writing classes. Thank you for all you do Mrs. Brame!

Mrs. Suter was our 2023-2024 MCE Staff Member of the Year AND the 2023-2024 MCCSC Staff Member of the Year. Mrs. Suter is our school's behavior interventionist. She works hard to help all of our students be successful in their classrooms each day! Thank you Mrs. Suter!
