Board Update
January 25, 2019
Happy Friday
We had another good but challenging week trying to work around the delays and disruptions with our schedule. Monday we had an eLearning day to make up the school day we missed in November and it went very well. The feedback from the students and staff has been very positive, for the most part. We will continue to learn and make tweaks to our eLearning days as we move forward. Overall, I am very proud of our students and staff on the work they did on Monday.
I want to inform all of you that the Union City Police Department will be using our school on Sunday to perform some active shooter exercises. You should know this in case you get a phone call questioning why there is a large police presence at the school on Sunday.
Please take a look at the information below and let me know if you have any questions.

**You can see the responses from our teachers concerning eLearning for next week. We have amazing teachers that absolutely want to do whatever it takes to take care of our students**
Grant Update
To go along with this news, I am also happy to share that Blake has earned his Work Place Specialist License and is now in line to teach our Project Lead The Way computer science strand that is now a requirement in the state of Indiana. This is very exciting news and we should be very grateful that he is willing to take this task on for us.
Staff Update
- Brooke Bissell has chosen to stay on with us to complete the school year. We will need to rescind her resignation.
- Zack Holt has shared with Neal and I that he will not be returning to teach Math at the Jr-Sr High. He has done an amazing job stepping into that position this year and we are thankful for the time he has given us.
REDC Money Awarded
Life Lesson Week
At this time NAPA has agreed to supply all the items for the car maintenance, and Tree Hill Farms plans to partner with us and assist in the food preparation training.
I would put one of these days on your calendars so you can come and see this in action.
