~AGHS CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS~

Mock Trial

Did you know AGHS has a mock trial club on campus? Well you’ve probably heard of it… But what is Mock trial?

A mock trial is a competition where students take part in a trial for a hypothetical crime complete with a whole history of interesting details. Students play all the roles in a court case. Students are the attorneys, the witnesses, the victim, and defendant. The trial itself is held at the ACTUAL San Luis Obispo courthouse and an ACTUAL judge runs the trial. ACTUAL lawyers rate the competition and make sure courtroom procedure is followed.

The Mock trial club has 3 ACTUAL attorneys who volunteer to help prepare students for the case. We meet twice a week Tuesday and Thursday after school.

Clubs should know in order to advertise for your club's special events, please turn your announcement into room #205 for posting. Going forward, flyers will be hung in Eagle Hall, on the tri marquee and blue board in the quad, on the Softball Shed wall, outside room #912, and in the admin building window. All other posters will be removed.

PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE

On this date in 2020, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and a pioneering advocate for women’s rights, who in her ninth decade became a much younger generation’s unlikely cultural icon, died on Friday at her home in Washington. She was 87.
