National Library Week

Communities Matter @ Your Library

April 14-20, 2013

Join us in celebrating National Library Week at the Valor Library. This year the theme is "Communities Matter", so events are centered around building and exploring our community! The Valor Library is a place for everybody in our community to connect and engage with books, ideas, and each other. Join us for any or all of the week's events.

Schedule

Monday, April 15

All Day - We'll kick off the week by getting to know our community's favorite books. Stop by the library to have your picture taken with your favorite book. We will be putting the pictures onto a READ graphic (the Swoop pictures in this newsletter should give you an idea of what your picture will look like). Pictures will be available on Friday!

All Week - We'll be hosting a book drive; pass on books you have already read to others in need of books! The books will be distributed to organizations associated with Valor's Discovery program.

All Week - Fill out the Valor Library Survey to provide feedback on library services over the 2012-2013 school year.

Tuesday, April 16

All Day - In your community, teachers read! Look forward to hearing your teachers read some of their favorite stories aloud in your classes.

Business Lunch - Stop by the library to view the books-related movie that will be playing throughout the lunch period. Feel free to bring your lunch as long as you and your lunch stay in the movie area and you clean up after yourself! What movie are we watching? Hint: "When I was your age, television was called books!" --Grandpa
