LIBRARY NOOK
NURSE RX
There have been a few cases of head lice at the school this year. Please check your children often and remind them to not share coats, hats, combs, or hair ties. If your child has lice please bring them to see the nurse for a re-check prior to returning to school.
On another note, no OTC (over the counter) medication - this entails any type of medication that is not prescribed by an MD - can be brought to school with students. All medication needs to be delivered by parents.
The nurse is screening students for height, weight, vision, and hearing for all students in Kdg, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades starting this month. If you have any questions please call Nurse Moore at 892-9705.
WINTER GEAR
We have woken up to snow this week which is a good reminder that our students go outside for recess everyday for 30 minutes plus wait outside at the bus stop. Please make sure they bring their winter gear to school. If they wear boots, please have them bring shoes, or leave shoes at school, to change into so they aren't wearing their snow boots all day. There are many places in the valley that have gently used winter gear at either minimal cost or free. These places are:
- Big Lake Clothing Closet-- All items are free
- Turning Leaf - In Wasilla -- Wednesday is discount day for children's clothing and outdoor gear. (.50 for all clothing and $1.00 for coats etc.)
- Value Village--In Wasilla-- Prices change depending on the discount of the day.
- Salvation Army--In Wasilla-- Prices change depending on the sale rack of the day.
The school has very few items that students may borrow. Thank you
