ILEARN Testing:

ILEARN Testing begins the week of April 19th. All students are asked to participate in testing, though it must be done IN PERSON at Creston. For our in person/hybrid learners, the test will occur on regularly scheduled school days.

Upcoming Health Screenings: April 12-23. 5th and 8th grade students will be screened for vision (please encourage students to wear glasses or contacts on these days) and 7th grade will be screened for hearing. If you do NOT wish for your child to participate, please send a signed note in with your student to be given to the Clinic.


Social Health Films for Grades 5/6: Coming up next week on April 14th and 15th, students in grades 5 and 6 will be viewing Social Health films as they do annually. Information on each garde-level's program is below; if parents / caregivers desire for their student NOT to participate, please contact your child's grade-level administrator by April 13, 2021:


Grade 5

Puberty for Boys/Puberty for Girls

This program is offered in gender-specific classes.

  • Boys and girls meet separately to review and expand on gender-specific information learned in fourth grade and to learn about changes that happen to the opposite sex during puberty.
  • The program defines sexual reproduction and discusses abstinence as the only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy.
  • Students continue their focus on respect for self and others and on seeking help from trusted adults.


Grade 6

Pregnancy, STDs, and Peer Pressure

This program is offered in gender-specific classes.

  • Boys and girls meet separately to review the basics of previous puberty education programs.
  • The program focuses on teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention.
  • Students are taught that abstinence is the only 100% way to avoid pregnancy and STDs.
  • Students engage in interactive sessions which facilitate skills development in positive communication and refusal.

Semester 2 Calendar - Grades 6, 7, 8

The schedule below applies to in person / hybrid 6th graders, and ALL 7th and 8th grade students.

All 5th & 6th graders who are 100% virtual will maintain their black/gold schedule by last name for all of semester 2.

Any Student coming into school for Athletics or Extra-Curricular Activities must follow the procedures below:

Students - ask yourself the following questions BEFORE you leave home to report to school for any athletic or extra-curricular event, practice, or game. If you answer YES to any of the questions, you should stay home and notify your coach/sponsor. If you answer NO to all of the questions, you can enter the building through Door 7 AFTER 4:10 PM. Please contact your coach or sponsor with specific questions!

Car Rider Procedures - AM Arrival

--Enter Door 1

--For your safety, stay in your car until directed by staff to exit.

--8:45 AM is the earliest we may allow students to enter the building.

--Exit only when your vehicle is stopped, along the curb, and you are directed to do so by staff.

--Exit your vehicle on the right side (curb side) to stay as safe as possible.

--Be ready to get out of the vehicle as you pull up to Door 1; please have your items ready to go.

--Follow staff directions at all times.

Kindergarten Kick-Off

Incoming kindergarten students (age five before October 1) and their families are invited to attend Kindergarten Kick-off on Monday, April 19, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., happening at all nine of our elementary school locations. Take a school tour, meet our kindergarten team, and get all of your questions answered about Kindergarten. Online Enrollment opens April 5.

Old Bethel Girls Night!

Old Bethel United Methodist Church student ministry is hosting a girls night event May 8th from 6pm- 8:45pm. This event is to help girl students bond with their mothers/parental figures. The night will involve a craft, dinner, dessert, games, and a speaker. We will also have child care for those who would like to attend but have little ones at home. This event is completely free! If you are interested in attending please text 317-731-2188 to register! Registration is open now and ends Wednesday, April 28th.
