Panther Pause

23 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School

I hope everyone had a great week and found a routine that works for you and your family. I am incredibly proud of our students and staff and the level of work that is being done. I know this adjustment hasn't been easy for any of us, but our Panthers have made the best out of it. My heart still breaks for our seniors and so many memories are being taken away from them. Rest assured that we are working to come up with plans to create new memories and make them feel special during what should be for them one of the best times of their lives. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!!

Dr. Lance Groppel

CHHS Principal

This week’s Project Graduation Senior Spotlight is Crisse Hamner. Crisse is a member of the CHHS Spirit Sisters and also enjoys spending time with friends and family. In the fall Crisse is planning on attending TCC and then transferring to Tarleton State University or Texas Tech. She thinks project graduation is a great opportunity for the seniors to have one last celebration together as a whole class. We hope all of our seniors will join Crisse at CHHS Project Graduation 2020!

Senior Videos

We want to hear from our seniors! Seniors, we are asking that you please submit a video here that may be used on GCISD social media. Please wear a campus shirt, say your name, what GCISD schools you have attended, your plans for next year, and your favorite memory from your time at GCISD.

Please consider nominating a parent, teacher, staff member, campus administrator, local business, or community member who has gone above and beyond for our school, staff, and students. Please note: Friend of Children Award nominees do NOT have to be members of PTSA or work for GCISD. Each year, CHHS recognizes those who support our school through these three types of awards:

* FRIEND OF CHILDREN AWARD - This award may be presented to anyone you would like to honor; an outstanding volunteer, teacher, principal, assistant principal, school staff member, school custodian, cafeteria worker, featured speaker, grandparent, business person or owner who continually supports CHHS, the students and/or our PTSA. The person does not have to be a PTSA member.

* HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP AWARD - An Honorary Texas Life Membership is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon an individual by the Texas PTA for outstanding contributions to the well-being of children and youth. This person must be a member of the PTSA and support the Objectives of PTSA.

* EXTENDED SERVICE AWARD - In 1987, the Texas PTA Board of Directors developed the criteria for awarding a Texas PTA Extended Service Award to those who have continued to give outstanding service to the Texas PTA. This recipient must have been actively involved in the Texas PTA for ten (10) years and be a Texas Life Member.

Nomination forms must be submitted by Monday, April 24.

Awards will be presented at the PTSA General Meeting in May.

School Report Card

You will find a copy of the State of Texas 2018–19 School Report Card for Colleyville Heritage High School. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.

The information contained in the School Report Card is required by state law and is briefly described in the enclosed “2018–19 School Report Card Definitions.” The report for our school may or may not have all the information described because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.

State law requires that the School Report Card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.

The School Report Cards can be found online at

A more complete report about Colleyville Heritage High School, the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), is available by contacting my office or can be accessed online at

Please contact me if you have any questions concerning this report card. Thank you for your continued support of Colleyville Heritage High School.

Note from the Nurse

Welcome back to CHHS! I hope you all had a safe and healthy summer. As it is the beginning of the year, I wanted to give a friendly reminder to everyone that we do need new permission forms for any and all medications every year. We do allow students to carry inhalers and EpiPens with a Dr. signing their permission form, all other prescriptions are kept in

the clinic and administered from the clinic. We do have a permission form for students to carry over the counter medications. This requires a parent and student signature annually. Please help us keep all of our students safe by following these protocols.

I can accept a fax or email scan of permission forms. Please read and review the rules for medications at school with your student.

Forms can be found here:

All volunteers at CHHS (and for any GCISD school) must read the Volunteer Handbook and complete the CHHS Volunteer Verification form. You must also complete the GCISD Background check. All volunteers are required to reapply each year using this link.
