Principal's Message/Mesaje De Director
Familias estimadas,
¡Tuvimos una semana fantástica! Fue maravilloso conocer a nueva familias y estudiantes durante el James John Elementary Kinder Connect de esta semana. Como recordatorio, todavía hay tiempo para inscribir a sus pequeños para Kinder. Además, este verano, la escuela primaria Sitton ofrecerá la Escuela de Transición de Kinder (EKT) para los estudiantes que comenzarán la escuela el año escolar 2023/24. Comuníquese con nuestra oficina de James John si tiene alguna pregunta sobre la inscripción al jardín de infantes o EKT.
La semana que viene, el miércoles(15 dde marzo), tendremos nuestra Walk and Roll a nuestra escuela. Nos reuniremos en el Centro Comunitario de St. Johns a las 7:30 am para comenzar a caminar juntos a nuestra escuela(¡Únete con nosotros, va a ser divertido!). Nuestro tema para el mes de marzo es Esfuerzo, los estudiantes están aprendiendo sobre el esfuerzo durante todo el mes y estoy seguro que nuestros estudiantes compartirán historias con ustedes sobre el maravilloso aprendizaje que está sucediendo en sus salones de clase. También este mes estaremos celebrando nuestro espíritu escolar teniendo un día de gemelos el 24 de marzo y las vacaciones de primavera este año serán del 27 al 31 de marzo.

Dear families,
We had a fantastic week! It was wonderful to meet our incoming families and students during this week's James John Elementary Kinder Connect. As a reminder, there is still time to register your little ones for Kindergarten. Additionally, this summer, Sitton Elementary School will be offering Early Kindergarten Transition School (EKT) for students who will be starting school in the 2023/24 school year. Please contact our James John office if you have any questions regarding registering for Kindergarten at James John Elementary or Sitton's summer EKT.
On Wednesday(March 15th) of next week, we will be having our Walk and Roll to school. We will meet at the St. Johns Community Center at 7:30 am and we will all walk together to school(come join us, it's going to be fun!). Our theme for the month of March is Effort and students will be learning about effort throughout the month. I am sure your kiddos will share stories about their wonderful learning that is happening in their classrooms about Effort. Also, this month we will be celebrating our school spirit with Twin Day on March 24th and Spring Break this year will be from March 27th - 31st. What an exciting month!

PBOT came to James John this week and gave our Walk-n-Roll volunteers a Bike Bus training! Thanks to everyone who made it!

Are you thinking about middle school yet? Join us on Thursday, March 16 at 6:00pm to learn more about George Middle School. Faculty and Principal Amy Whitney will be here to answer your questions. Afterwards we will announce open positions for next year’s PTA board and leadership team. As usual, dinner, childcare, and Spanish interpretation are all available. See you there!

Volunteers needed - PPS Clothing Center/Necisitamos Voluntarios - PPS Centro de Ropa
Are you able to volunteer during the day or do you know someone who can?
The PPS Clothing Center is a volunteer-run space that provides clothing to families. Every school sends volunteers twice a year. Thursday, March 16th is James John's day to send 5-6 volunteers from 9:30am -1:30pm, to help kids receive clothing and to help sort donations so there are lots of choices for kids to see.
The Clothing Center is located at the Marshall (Benson HS) Campus; 3905 SE 91st, Room B-60. Please have volunteers check in at the Clothing Center. When entering through the main school entrance take the hallway to the left, then the next hallway to the left, halfway down we are on the right, up the stairs and there we are.

El Centro de Ropa de PPS es un espacio administrado por voluntarios que proporciona ropa a las familias. Cada escuela envía voluntarios dos veces al año.El jueves 16 de marzo es el día de James John para enviar 5-6 voluntarios de 9:30 am a 1:30 pm, para ayudar a los niños a recibir ropa y clasificar las donaciones para que haya muchas opciones para que los niños vean.
Estamos emocionados de poder tener familias que vengan a recoger para sus estudiantes.
Estamos ubicados en el campus de Marshall (Benson HS); 3905 SE 91st, Sala B-60. Por favor haga que los voluntarios se registren en el Centro de Ropa.
Al entrar por la entrada principal de la escuela toma el pasillo de la izquierda, luego el siguiente pasillo de la izquierda, a mitad de camino estamos a la derecha, sube las escaleras y ahí estamos.
