Writing STAAR
Be on the lookout for a special "STAAR" edition newsletter this week. It will be filled with a ton of important information you and your kiddo will need to be prepared for those two days!
Grobe's Corner
This week we began preparing heavily for the STAAR writing test. To this point we have focused on the content and now we are learning great test taking strategies and stress relieving skills. We will continue this focus next week as I spiral in important review material. I am so blessed to have so many hard working students! I know they will do great and I look forward to seeing them succeed!
Blessings,

This week in Math we finished up conversions and discussed elapsed time. The kids did fabulous with elapsed time; I'm so proud of their hard work. Next week we will start our Data Analysis unit. We will start with frequency tables and move into dot plots.
In Science, we have started our Unit on Atmosphere. This week we focused on the properties of air and the different atmospheres around our earth. We learned that air is matter by experimenting with balloons. We also did an experiment with milk, soap and food coloring to determine what the sun does to the earth when we have natural disasters. Ask your kids to describe the experiments, or even recreate them at home! Next week, we will finish talking about air and begin talking about wind movement.
Please make sure that students are practicing their math facts daily to continue reviewing this skill.
Have a great weekend!
