Carlisle Library
October 2017
Dear Coyotes,
We have been very busy this last month learning about digital citizenship. Third and fourth graders are preparing to start a digital citizenship project. Not only do they get to learn new computer skills using Google Draw, but they get to show what they have learned about digital citizenship by creating a digital citizenship superhero! I am so excited about this project and cannot wait to see what they come up with!
Book clubs will be starting soon for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Students who wish to sign up will have their names put in a drawing and ten students from each grade level will be randomly picked to be in the clubs. If your child signs up and does not get in this time, don't worry, there will be a few more opportunities this year to be in one. Book clubs are held during students' lunchtime.
Programs
Lil Pups
Lil Pups starts in October. Our first class is Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the library from 8:00-8:45 a.m. I am really looking forward to meeting all of our new Lil Pups and welcoming back returning Lil Pups! Carlisle families who have children ages 3-5 (5 years of age who are not in Kindergarten) are invited to bring them to our Lil Pups Early Literacy class to learn new literacy skills and become more familiar with the Carlisle school environment. Please fill out the form that was sent home in Thursday's packet on September 21st and return it to the front office.
Library Volunteers
I want to thank all of you who have come and volunteered in the library. You have been a tremendous help to me by shelving books and helping our younger students find and check out books.
If you are interested in volunteering in the library, please come and see me. You are welcome to come in during your child's library time and volunteer if you choose.
