DCS Counseling Corner

September/October 2019

Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a fun and restful summer! We are getting back in the swing of things and for the Class of 2020, that means this is the busy season! Application deadlines will come up quickly, so be sure to plan ahead and check all those boxes! Keep an eye out for a future newsletter just for graduating students with tons of important information about graduating. Feel free to email me any time (akirk@dimensions.org), I am here to help all of you with your FAFSA & college applications, scholarships, transcript questions, and more!

All other high school students should make sure to connect with me at least once this year to create/revise grad plans and start your college & career planning. I strongly recommend attending a college/career fair to start assessing your options, and there are many happening over the next few weeks!

Don't stress over having to fit a counselor meeting into your already busy lives. You can "meet" with me via email, phone, Skype/Zoom, or even text messaging! As always, I will still be available for in-person meetings during Counselor Meeting Days at the Learning Centers and by request. Keep an eye on your ParentSquare/StudentSquare messages for upcoming Counselor Meeting Dates & Application Support Dates held at your nearest learning center. My contact information is at the bottom of this newsletter. I'm looking forward to supporting all of you this year!
