The Willard Weekly
February 15, 2016
Dear Willard Families and Community,
We are celebrating Black History month, and your child can participate in #Insta-History. #Insta History is asking that students create a project that demonstrates the individual's contributions to Black History through a poem, song, art, or essay. There is a bulletin board in the front hallway with figures from Black History to choose from. The completed projects will be displayed in the front hallway. Participants will be invited to a soul food luncheon. Please submit all submissions to Mrs. Frontino.
All Saints Tutoring is available through May 16th every Monday night in the cafeteria from 6:30-7:30. If you are interested please return the form that was sent home with your child or pick up one in the office.
Our IB attitude for the month of February is commitment. Commitment is the ability to persevere, commit to one's own learning, and show self discipline and responsibility. The profile attribute that we are celebrating is being open-minded. Being an open-minded person means to understand and appreciate one's own culture and personal history, as well as being open to the perspectives, values, and traditions of other communities and individuals (IBO, 2009). Please share these with your child(ren) and discuss how these traits are helpful in daily life.
The Willard Weekly is posted on Willard’s Facebook page. Be sure to like it.
Did you know that all 4th graders receive a free pass for Federal Parks (families are included)? Please check out this website for more information.
