Ocean Week Comes to an end...

It is with great sadness that I tell you that Ocean Week ended today. We had a great two weeks though, learning about lots of different animals who live in the Rocky Seashore. We learned all about crayfish, crabs, hermit crabs, sea anemone, mussels, barnacles, sea stars and even chiton. Ask your child what their favorite animal was! We also want to give London a great big congratulations for receiving the Inspiration Award for First Grade!

The year is coming to a close...

We have lots of things coming up as our school year comes to a close. We have a couple specific things happening every day next week.

Monday- Please send in any sheet protectors that you have at home, so that we can finish our Memory Books this week. Also, please send in a paper bag or reusable bag so we are able to clean out our desks.

Tuesday- We have a Media Center Movie to celebrate all of the students who have turned in all of their books. All of our students turned in all of their books, so we will all get to participate in this wonderful celebration. Field Day is this afternoon! Please wear tennis shoes, clothes that are easy to run around in, hat + sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. We also need one more parent volunteer to sign up to help out, so please email me if you are able to come in and help out.

Wednesday- Field Trip Day! Please send in paper sack and lunch with your child's name on the outside. If your child has a SSF t-shirt or a BLUE t-shirt, please have them wear it today.

Thursday- Today we are celebrating reading! Students are encouraged to wear PJ's, bring books, and a flashlight.

Friday- Awards day! We will be walking the red carpet, and would love it if the students could wear RED shirts to school today. We will be sending home report cards today, so please make sure you check their backpacks!

Over the summer- Make sure to check out SSF's summer slide program. It is very important to continue reading, writing, and practicing word problems. Please check out the SSF website for some more information.
