Middle Colonies:
Delaware
Delaware was founded by Peter Minuit, it was founded for trade and profits. It was founded on December 7, 1878.
Delaware was often called the "bread basket" since it had a thriving economy. They produced large amounts of cash crops, such as wheat, rye, and barley. They also had deposits of iron ore that they heated and purified.
The geography of colonial Delaware was mostly flat low land. They had an overall mild climate, with warm summers and mild winters. The fertile soil helped the economy thrive.
Government in Delaware was a proprietary colony, a colony that was granted to a person or group of people with full governing rights.
The religion in Delaware was varied, since it was a religious free zone. Many different religions were practiced here, including, Quakers, Catholics, Lutherans, Jews, and others.
Peter Minuit was a famous resident, because he founded Delaware. Delaware and New York are the only colonies out of the thirteen not founded by the English. Also William Penn who founded Pennsylvania was given a charter for Delaware.
Famous people that are from Delaware are, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Elisabeth Shue.
Out of the thirteen colonies, Delaware possibly gives you the most freedom because it has both religious freedom and a proprietary government. Delaware is great for farmers and slave owners because this colony has great soil and allows slavery. This colony also generally welcomes merchants, fishers, lumberjacks, and timber jacks. It also has an abundance of crops, and is one of the colonies named the breadbasket.
New York
New York was founded by Peter Minuit in the year of 1626. It was founded for the profits and trade opportunities.
The economy of New York at the time was based off of fur, lumber, shipping, ect. Since it was dominated by harbors.
Article of Capitulation: Is a document that the English had to sign before they took over the colony. In the document it stated that people from different countries would still be allowed to settle New York.
Under the rule of James the Duke of York, New York was a proprietary colony. A colony granted by the British king to a person or group of people with full governing rights. Just like Delaware. However, in 1685, New York became a royal colony.
There was religious freedom here in New York. But they had a governor named Peter Stuyvesant who couldn't stand anyone that was different from him. He hated the Jews and Quakers especially. He wanted to kick them out but the company he was working for wouldn't allow this So any religious can live here freely.
New York has quite a few famous people that were born there such as, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Michael Jordan, and Adam Sandler.
If you enjoy working hard, then this is the colony for you. You get to make mostly everything you use in this colony. From furniture, to clothes, to food. Also come here if you want to make some quick money. Settle here for a few years then go back to the colonies with pelts and you can get rich fast. Any religion is welcome in New York. This colony is a royal colony, so it is more for people who enjoy a powerful government.
Mountains in the northeast, lowlands from Lake Ontario along the Canadian border, and atlantic coastal plain. The general geography of the Middle Colonies had a mix of the New England and Southern features but had fertile soil and land that was suited towards farming.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania was founded as a payment to William Penn, a debt that was to be given to his father. He decided that Pennsylvania would be a religious safe haven, for he didn't agree with the Puritan ways. It was founded by William on December 12, 1787.
Pennsylvania was mostly covered in forests and very few parts had stone roads. Most of the colony didn't even have dirt roads. Although they had mountains, they had been worn down into lower mountains. But regardless they are still rather high, and difficult to scale.
Pennsylvania had a very successful economy, do to their fertile soil, access to water , and they extensive forests. They were able to harvest many different crops that were sent back to England. While the southern colonies focused on tobacco, they invested in iron and paper.
Kevin Bacon, Taylor Swift, Amanda Seyfried, and Will Smith are all famous celebrities from Pennsylvania.
Some famous people who lived in Pennsylvania at the time were, William Penn, Ben Franklin,
Pennsylvania had no established church, but instead was viewed as a place to practice religion freely. There was many religions practiced here, German Reformists, Calvinists, Moravians, and Mennonites are some of the more well-known religions during the colonial era.
Colonial Pennsylvania's government was a form of self-government. They voted in their representatives. Its government was made of a country seat. Every representatives voted in, was given the right to govern matters such as commercial affairs.
Some important documents in Pennsylvania's history are the Great Law: This document stated that everyone had their own rights. And the Frame of Government: Pennsylvania's first constitution.
If you want a very big say in what goes on in the colonies, come here to Pennsylvania. If you want freedom of religion this is the perfect place for you. If you want all of these things and you're a farmer you won't be able to pass up this opportunity. The soil is fertile and very good for growing crops. This colony basically has self-government, so it is ideal for people who enjoy making their own decisions.
New Jersey
The colony of New Jersey was founded by Lord Berkely in 1660, and just like New York was founded for trade and profit.
The economy of New Jersey was also refered as a breadbasket, for it grew crops. Especially wheat that was then ground into flour and shipped to England.
Mountains in the north east, lowlands starting from Lake Ontario and going along the Canadian border. It had a mixture of both the New England and Southern colonies. It also had fetile soil that was suitable for growing crops.
New Jersey was governed by a Royal Colony. As well as New Hampshire, New York, Georgia, New Jersey , and South and North Carolina.
Some famous or well known people from New Jersey are Frank Sinatra, Queen Latifah,Whitney Houston, and Kevin Jonas.
New Jersey had no specific religion which allowed religious freedom for different religion.
An important document in New Jersey's history is the Concessions and Agreements document.
The Concession and Agreement document of New Jersey was very important to it. Because New Jersey was a proprietary colony, many changes overcame the people during certain times. For one thing, religion was changing fast. That's why the Concession and Agreement document was written. This document describes all the things these colonists need and should be acknowledged by relating to religion. This inspired others across the colonies to do the same as well.
New England Colonies:
Connecticut
Connecticut was founded for dissention and expansion to agitate for freedom, also for financial opportunities.
The economy of Connecticut was based off of fishing, lumber and the manufactor and export of rum.
The goverment of colonial Connecticut was governed as a Charter Colony.
Seth MacFarlane, George W. Bush, and Suzanne Collins are all from the state Connecticut.
Connecticut was south of Massachusetts, and east of Connecticut was Rhode Island. New York was both west and south of the colony. Along with New York, the Atlantic Ocean was also south of Connecticut. Because Connecticut soil was poor farming, Connecticut depended largely on fishing, whaling, livestock, and shipbuilding.
There was no religious freedom in Connecticut, it was founded by Puritans. And they did not tolerate any other form religion besides their own.

This colony is great for farmers and slave owners. Because it has fertile soil and permission for slavery. If you are a white male who owns land, definitely consider coming down to Connecticut because you will have many rights due to the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut. Connecticut is mainly Puritan for their religion, but for those of you who want to start a church for your own religion, are allowed to do so. If you are a Puritan and are thinking moving to Connecticut, make sure you are a hard worker because the residents of Connecticut are all generally hardworking due to their religious beliefs.
Rhode Island
The colony of Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams in 1636. It was created for religious freedom.He and others were seeking religious freedom, and soon moved to another colony in search of a land with different ideas and rules.
The economy of colonial Rhode Island consisted of exporting items and lumber for building ships and furniture.
Their soil was hard and horrible for farming, many had substinence farming. The climate there was the coldest of the three regions, mild and short summers that lead to long, and harsh winters but there wee less disease here than in the warmer colonies.
The geography consisted of flat rolling hills and lowlands. The basic geography consisted of mountains thick with trees. Some rivers and poor rocky soil that made it difficult to farm and also unsuitable for crops.
All white men had the right to vote here just like in Connecticut. New England colonies such as Massachusetts all had town meetings. Where they discussed different things during the meetings. For example they could have been discussing how much to pay people living in the colony. These meeting are what spread democratic ideas. Like Massachusetts, Rhode Island was a royal colony. A colony in which the King of England granted a charter to the colonial government establishing the rules under which the colony was to be governed.
Roger Williams founded Rhode Island because he wanted there to be religious freedom, and so there was religious tolerance in Rhode Island. There was also no state church and you weren't even required to go to church. So you could be any religion and you would be treated fairly.
All religions are welcome her in the colony. And because of its close proximity to the ocean, Rhode Island would be great for shipbuilders. But of course, any business would be fine. This colony also permits owning slaves, so slave owners would enjoy Rhode Island. White males should move here because of the rights they possess. This colony is a royal colony, so it is more for people who enjoy a strong government.

Massachusetts
Massachusetts was founded by John Winthrop, because he wanted to escape religious persecution. It was founded in 1630 by John and others, at the Massachusetts Bay colony. , It was founded by puritans.
The economy of colonial Massachusetts was concentrated in manufactoring, ship building, the export of rum, and precious whale oil for lamps.
The geography of Massachusetts had jagged coast and hills. Like the rest of the New England colonies it was covered with mountains full of trees. And also soil that was unsuitable for planting crops.
John Cena, John F. Kennedy, Steve Carell, and Elizabeth Banks are all celebrities who were born in Massachusetts.
The religion of Massachusetts was strict, there was no religious freedom in Massachusetts. The area was inhabited by Puritans, who did not tolerate any other form of religion besides their own.
The Mayflower Compact was an important founding document in Massachusetts's founding.

This colony is also great for those who enjoy a more powerful government because Massachusetts is a royal colony. If you are in the fishing, livestock, lumbering, or shipbuilding business then Massachusetts is the colony for you. Because it depends largely on these businesses. You will definitely be successful in the colony if you choose to become or are a merchant because you will make a lot of profit. If you have slaves, bring them here because Massachusetts does allow slavery.
New Hampshire
New Hampshire was founded by John Mason. It was a planned fishing colony.
It was founded in the year 1623.
The economy of New Hampshire was mostly in the fishing, farming, manufacturing textiles, and shipbuilding.
There are many trees in this area. Some of the finest for ship building, such as tall strong pines. The soil here was mostly rocky except for some land that was around rivers
The colony had a rough, cold and damp climate back then.The soil was unfit for farming, with all of the hard, rocky soil and long periods of cold weather.
The climate was colder than the other colonies because it was closer to the sea and farther north. The colonists didn't like the climate because it was hard to grow certain crops and its severe winters killed many people. So the people relied n their precious animals rather than the crops. However corn, pumpkins, squash, cranberries, blueberries, and potatoes were all good for the climate of the New Hampshire colony.
Government in colonial New Hampshire was created a proprietary colony. And the Massachusetts Bay colony helped settle the colony. The two were at one time joined together. It had a democratic republic form of state government similar to the United States government.
The established church in New Hampshire was Congregationalist.

New Hampshire is more for people who enjoy a more powerful government. If you are a shipbuilder, merchant, or fisher, definitely consider coming to New Hampshire. There is a abundance of those businesses in this area, and will result in great profit. If you are a farmer, then you also should come to this colony, however you will have to work harder because the soil here is rather rocky. You should consider move to this colony if you're hardworking. This colony is for Puritans only, for no other religions are welcomed here. Families should come, so everyone can make a contribution in making New Hampshire a better colony. The slave trade business is debatable in this colony but is still used.
Southern Colonies:
Georgia
Founded in 1733 as a debtor colony by James Oglethorpe.
The economy was concentrated on agriculture and developed the plantations exporting tobacco, corn, cotton, vegetables, and also grain.
The geography of colonial Georgia was hilly coastal planes covered with copious ammounts of forests.
Some famous people who were born in Georgia are Ryan Seacrest, Julia Roberts, Cee Lo Green, and also Kanye West.
Religion in Georgia was not dominated by a specific religion which gave religious freedom to Baptists, Anglicans, and others.
Climate: The Southern colonies were the warmest of the three regions, with winters not that difficult to survive, but the hot and humid summers gave rise to the spread of disease. The warm climate did make it possible to grow crops throughout the year though. And was suited for plantations
Some people, or trustees, had set laws for Georgia and the people were obligated to follow them.The people living in this colony did not like the way they were ruled. They had no say in anything so some people packed their bags and went to neighboring colonies such as South Carolina. The trustees were supported by the King and when he saw how Georgia was failing he stopped supporting them. The trustees were left with no choice than to do what the settlers wanted. With Oglethorpe as governor, Georgia was a proprietary colony, a colony granted by the British king to a person or group of people with full governing rights, for 19 years. James Oglethorpe did not like that the settlers were changing everything about his colony so he left and never came back. Shortly after the trustees left and in the year of 1951 Georgia became a royal colony.
If you are a debtor, you should plan to live in Georgia. This colony has great soil for planting crops as well. So if you are a farmer, it should work out well. Because slavery is allowed here and it guarantees you success. Georgia is different from other colonies because it provides religious freedom to all religions except Roman Catholics. So feel free to live here unless you are Roman Catholic, you will not be welcomed warmly. Georgia is a royal colony, so it is more for people who enjoy having a stronger government.
Virginia
Virginia was founded by John Smith in 1607, for the colony Jamestown. The reasons for its settlement was profits, Jamestown hoped to find gold and become rich.
The cash crop for Jamestown was tobacco. It was their number one in making profit for England.

It is above North Carolina, and right next to Maryland. Pennsylvania also borders the northwestern tip of Virginia. To the right of Virginia is the Atlantic Ocean and the East Coast. Rivers ran through Virginia meaning there was a good water source. Virginia is a great farming state, for it has very fertile soil. The soil is not to dry with the streams and rivers nearby, but still has a lot of land to cover. Tobacco played a huge part in the surviving of Virginia. Also, their are many trees and marses to have agriculture work. There is much wood that could be used for multiple things.
George Washington, Chris Brown, Sandra Bullock, and Thomas Jefferson are all celebrities born in Virginia.
The religion in Virginia was a primarily Christian colony. The two main sections of Virginia were Catholic and Protestant. Children were educated so they would be able to read the bible. They took life very seriously in the Christian way.
In the beginning, governors ruled the colony, which gave little freedom to the people. So, not many English people wanted to live there. Therefore, the Virginia Company set up a new form of Government. In 1619, The House of Burgesses was the first form of Representative Government in the English colonies. Elected reprsentatives met in the assembly House of Burgesses. This was were laws were made and enforced. It was a strong and effective form of government.
If you are a farmer, this is the place to go. Tobacco farms ruled Virginia for a long period of time, and that is what many made their profit off of. Yet, you have all the tools you need to create different types of crops. Corn, wheat, or C]cotton, whatever you suits you best. This colony is also ideal for merchants. Virginia has a rich history and a very solid and effective government. Virginia is a very religious Christian colony, so there is no worry to hide your beliefs. If you are a builder, then Virginia has the sturdy wood to do it. Agriculture is a big business with all the trees and marshes here. Virginia has big opportunities, and could be the place for you!
Maryland
Maryland was founded by Sir George Calvert, also known as Lord Baltimore. He founded the colony of Maryland, because he wanted a place where Roman Catholics could have a safe haven from all the hate that they were given. It was founded in 1634.
Economy in Maryland heavily relied on the cash crop, tobacco. The used indentured servants at first, but soon found out that they all died much too quickly. Most died before their service was up. They then switched to slaves, which turned out to be a better method.
The Act of Toleration: Gave out religious freedoms and was an important document in Maryland's history.
Many of the target residents living there were Catholics. One rule that Maryland enforced, was that to live there you could NOT be Jewish. This influenced many Jewish people not to move here, however others were kindly welcomed. Especially Catholics, because it was a Catholic colony after all.
Maryland's temperature swang from freezing, rainy winters, and broiling summers on an annual basis. Because it rests on both sides of Chesapeake bay. It has extremely fertile and excellent for growing crops. The landscape had Coastal plains, peidmont plateau, and the Blue Ridge.
Maryland was a proprietary colony, or a colony that was granted to an individual and group by the English crown and were granted full rights of self-government. Lord Baltimore believed that since he was granted the charted. He was able to rule the colony by himself. However the colonists convinced him to let them make their own laws.
Because Calvert created this colony because he was being persecuted because of his religion. Maryland first welcomed Catholics and Protestants. And eventually the colony passed the Act of Toleration which allowed all types of Christians to have religious freedom. That is all Christians but not Jews. The Act of Toleration also made the punishment on people that didn't believe in God very harsh. They could be put to death for their beliefs.
Some famous people who are from Maryland are, Michel Phelps, Frederick Douglass, Kevin Clash, Francis Scott Key, and Babe Ruth.
Even though this colony is perfect for Roman Catholics, because it contains mostly those who are of Roman Catholic faith. Maryland welcomes all religions. Planting crops here guarantees you lots of profit and is even easier for those who will bring their own slaves. Maryland is a proprietary colony, so it is more for people who enjoy making their own decisions
North Carolina
North Carolina was founded in 1653 by a group of proprietors, and just like South Carolina was founded for profit. Land back then meant money, so the more land you had, the richer you were assumed to be . Many people moved even further south because the land was getting a bit crowded and the land was so good for farming, that even more people arrived in an attempt to make money.
The economy of North Carolina was based off of tobacco, indigo, rice, sugar cane, and cotton.
When the Carolinas were founded they were one colony and it was a proprietary colony. In this colony the Lord of Proprietors would decided who would be the governor and then the governor would chose the council members. White males would chose the members of the legislator.
Geography of North Carolina consisted of coastal plains, plateau and mountain ranges.

If you are a Quaker and/or a member of the Anglican Church, North Carolina would suit you just fine. They founded this wonderful place and they intend to keep the place peaceful. Quakers from Virginia came to North Carolina because they were being mistreated by the Puritans. Baptist and other religions also came to find a religious freedom.
James Polk, Andrew Jackson, Clay Aikan, and Eva Gardner were all born in North Carolina.
English white families who can support themselves in the New World are most welcome. North Carolina is a proprietary colony, so it is more for people who enjoy making their own decisions. Being a farmer, fishermen, rancher, and lumberjacks would help boost their economy and the colony wants would suit you. There are very few slaves here so only come here if you are ready to be hardworking and will do everything for yourself. Quakers, Anglicans, and other religions are generally welcomed here.
South Carolina
The South Carolina Colony was founded in 1633 by eight English nobles with a Royal Charter from King Charles II. North and South Carolina were one colony until 1729.
The economy Concentrated on agriculture and developed the plantations, exporting tobacco, cotton, corn, livestock, and other crops. Crops were traded in return for items that could not be made on the plantations including shoes, lace, thread, farm tools and dishes.
South Carolina's geography salty marsh on the coast, sand hills in the middle of the state, mountains in the northern part of the state. And it was covered by old growth hardwood forests

South Carolina had a government system of laws and self government, and a form of republicanism. Republicanism had values of liberty nut not full power in the political standpoint. It influences residents of South Carolina to be a loyal and civil colony. The government did have its fair share of fights with Indians and arguments about the ports and outposts.
South Carolina was open to all religions. Many forms of Christianity lived in South Carolina, but Jews also lived here too. Yet, all religions worked well within the community. Churches were all over the place in South Carolina.

This colony is great for farmers and slave owners who want land to grow their own crops on. There are many business job openings around the port of Galveston also. If you are good with trade, this could be the place for you. This colony has self-government, so it is great for people who like to make decisions for themselves. It is also is open to any religion. The soil is very impressive and business is plentiful on the coast. You may want to settle in South Carolina
