Nearpod Reminders
Reminder #1: Your Nearpod password is NOT your district password. If you have forgotten your password to get into your district account, just click the "Forgot my password" link and enter your forsyth.k12.ga.us email address. You will get a link to reset your password in Outlook.
Reminder #2: You can easily design your content-based slides in Google Slides or PowerPoint and then bring them in to Nearpod. Both of these programs offer a wider range of design options than Nearpod does. To import PowerPoint, simply upload the file. To import Google Slides, use the Nearpodize extension in Google Chrome.
Reminder #3: You can add audio over any of your content slides by clicking the Audio button. You can upload an audio file (such as a song or pre-recorded instructions) or record your own right there just by enabling the microphone.
Reminder #4: Try to include something interactive every 3-5 slides. Have your students draw something, take a poll, answer a few questions, etc. Or you can add a Nearpod #d, a Field Trip, or a PhET Simulation. But change it up every 3-5 slides so that it's not "just another PowerPoint."
Time to Adjust your EDU Diet
Just like your regular diet, some of us are healthy consumers and some of us take in too much junk. As you begin the new year, think about the following questions:
- Are there practices, ideas, or even people that you need to cut from your EDU diet?
- Are there certain practices that you need to adjust?
- Are there practices or people that you need to add to your daily dosage of EDU?
If you make any of these "resolutions," I'd love to hear about them! Send me an email or Tweet about it! I'm on Twitter at @MmeBurgess. Be sure to tag #forsythpln as well! I'll be writing about this more over the next few weeks on my blog and sharing it via Twitter if you're interested in my own reflections.
ClearTouch Panels
As we get closer to full district installation of the ClearTouch Panels, I wanted to go ahead and share some resources for you.
- THIS PRESENTATION (originally created by the amazing Maggie Paoletti at Settles Bridge ES) has some quick and dirty FAQs for you, along with links to some more detailed info. Feel free to bookmark it (press the star at the right end of the address bar when it opens in Chrome), as I will update it if things change or need to be added.
- THIS FORM is a place for you to share YOUR tips, as well as ask questions or make requests (generic templates, like an agenda).
I'll be sharing some of my favorite tips over the rest of the year, but would love to hear what you're doing with them!
