Welcome to AGHS!
2022 - 2023 School Year
Principal's Message
Dear Eagles,
We are very excited to welcome students back to school starting on August 18, 2022!
We hope you had a enjoyable and recharging summer. Our staff has been hard at work getting ready for your arrival. As referenced in the District’s Welcome Back message, there has been several improvements in campus safety here at AGHS, including additional fencing, campus safety personnel and cameras. We are hopeful that we can continue to improve and make our campus as safe and welcoming as possible. When you come on to campus you will notice that we have quite a bit of construction going on so please be mindful to stay out of fenced off areas and construction zones. Although new construction comes with challenges, we are very excited to be getting a new, state of the art Culinary Building as well as a new 13 room building on the 900 side of campus to replace aging portables.
We are also eager to begin this year with an all new Eagle Expections behavior matrix designed to support students in knowing and exhibiting proper Eagle behavior. This matrix is the result of the hard work of a group of staff and parents throughout last year, focused on improving campus culture and climate. Through our advisory classes, as well as all other classes, staff will work with students to learn and understand these expectations. This will be a focus for us, school wide, all year long.
Due to the requirement of new state law regarding the start times for high schools, school will begin at 8:30am (Tues-Fri) and be dismissed at 3:35pm. The start time on Mondays remains 9:30am, with dismissal at 3:35pm.
An important component to a successful beginning of every school year is communication! The goings-on of all things AGHS, both schoolwide and classroom based, are communicated through ParentSquare. If you need help signing in to ParentSquare, please connect with the school office for assistance at 805-474-3200.
We look forward to seeing you all soon. Please feel free to contact us (805-474-3200) with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Dan Neff
Principal, Arroyo Grande High School
