Harvest Festival
Please come and join us and our teddy bears. Next Tuesday is our Harvest Festival – the children are invited to bring a bear into school for the day and enjoy bear related activities including a teddy bear picnic at lunch time. We suggest a donation of £2 per bear, which is going to the Refugee Crisis Fund.

Young Leaders Award
Bishopthorpe palace
On Wednesday we visited Bishopthorpe Palace for a conference where we met the Archbishop of York. We had to stand up in front of 47 headteachers (including Mr Dudman) and talked about what we learned when we did the young leaders award. We weren’t scared apart from when they placed us on the spot and asked us lots of questions. We also had a tour of the palace and saw beautiful paintings and amazing artefacts. Did you know the Queen stayed there with Prince Charles? As a thank you we had lots of sandwiches, cakes and chocolates too. Our talk went very well.
Everyone said lots of nice things about us and Mr Dudman said that he was very proud of us.
Holly, Lucie, Sam, Hamish, Tom and IrisLibrary Opening
All of the children are now on our electronic library system. The library is open to children and parents after school next Wednesday 3.15-3.45pm and fortnightly thereafter. This is great opportunity to come and share and choose a book with your child. Mrs Baker will be on hand to help. If you would like to volunteer to help in our library please mention it to the school office.
