About Georgia

Georgia is a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located in Western Asia and Eastern Europe, in the west near the Black Sea, north near Russia, south near turkey and Armenia, and southeast near Azerbaijan. Georgia's capital is Tbilisi, it covers 69,700 square kilometers, and has a population of almost 5 million.

Shortly after the collapse of the Russian empire and in the midst of the Russian civil war, it declared independence and became the Democratic Republic of Georgia.

Independence didn't last long. Unable to withstand an invasion by the Soviet Russia, the Democratic Republic of Georgia collapsed, and Moscow directed communist government was installed.

Anti-communism groups are created called rebellions. They planned many actions in different regions but these were soon disconnected and cruelly punished.

War with Germany

Germans invaded Abkhazia and occupied one village. So there didn't actually take place military movements on Georgian territory, but the country sacrificed the maximum of its demographic and material resources in this war. In this war they lost about 300,000 people.

The economy increased, but the government kept society under heavy pressure until the death of Stalin when it was ceased. The new Soviet government, with the leader of N. Khrushchov who softened the political regme.

Independence

Georgia

Georgia remained a Soviet Republic until April 9, 1991, when it declared independence shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union. This is the flag of independent Georgia also know as the Five Cross Flag.

Prediction

My prediction is that Georgia will continue to increase financially, and become more successful as time goes on. Its population seems to have increased by about 2 million over the years and will continue to as the economy grows.
