Wildcat News
June 18th, 2021
Dear Frank Wagner Community,
We’ve made it! In a few short days the 20-21 school year will be in our rear view mirror and we’ll be loading up our cars (or suitcases) and heading for summer adventures! Well Done!
June is always bittersweet. It is difficult to say goodbye to departing staff and students. To all our fifth grade Wildcats, have a great time in middle school next fall! You are well prepared and will do amazing things!
Please be patient with others as we race to the end of the year. Everyone is really busy trying to get everything done and buttoned up for Summer Break. The staff works really hard to provide the very best education possible, and to communicate in an effective and timely fashion. That being said, with so much going on sometimes things may “fall through the cracks.” Please be patient with staff and students, and if you really need to vent, please find me and let’s converse.
If you have already brought back unused books (and Chromebooks), THANK YOU. If you still have books or equipment that belong to the school, please gather them together and either bring them in now, or be ready to do so as the last day of school will soon be here. Elsewhere in this newsletter are times and locations for returning Chromebooks if you’re still using them, as you will need to be able to login from home until the last day of school (June 21).
As tempting as it is to just “turn off” all learning during the summer (everyone needs a break), it is helpful to have your child(ren) reading during the summer, using real books that don’t require batteries. Plan to set aside time away from the screen for leisure reading, and as a parent model that behavior with your child(ren). Even thirty minutes of leisure reading a day will make a big difference going forward. If they want to use screens, iReady will be available through the summer until mid-August.
Thanks for doing such a great job with your children. We are thankful for each and every one of you and your efforts in this unusual time.
Everyday, Your Best!
Al Robinson

Any medication left in the building after 12 PM on June 21st, 2021, will be disposed of.

MSD Now Offering Transitional Kindergarten
Beginning in the fall of 2021, Monroe School District will be offering FREE Transitional Kindergarten (preschool) for children who are not currently in an early learning program, are age eligible (must be turning 5 years old between September 1, 2021 - August 31, 2022), and reside within the Monroe School District boundaries.
Our goal is to provide families with the opportunity to ensure their students begin their school careers ready for kindergarten. This program will provide an equitable start for students by offering a high quality early learning experience before they enter the traditional kindergarten classroom. Students will be screened in the late spring and summer and may qualify based on need.
Families interested in having their child participate in the Transitional Kindergarten program should complete an online application. Forms received by June 1, 2021, will receive priority. Learn more here.

Safe Schools
Safety is always our number one priority. We encourage students, parents/guardians, volunteers and staff to report all safety concerns to any of our staff members or to submit concerns via Safe Schools Alert, our online tip reporting system.
Safe School Alert allows anyone to easily report tips of threats, bullying, harassment, drugs, vandalism or any other safety concern to our administration via phone, text, email or web.
Every concern that is reported in the system immediately notifies our administrators so they can investigate and take appropriate action. Reports may be filed anonymously through this system. The more information we are provided with, however, the easier it is for us to address concerns in a timely manner.
