Happy Labor Day

I hope everyone has had a great Labor Day Weekend and was able to spend a little extra time resting and spending time with your families. This past week was a great one with the big day being Thursday when we kicked off our Big Kahuna fundraiser. While the funds raised for the campus are great, we really want the students to have fun selling items and earning rewards for their hard work. We do ask that students please not go door to door unless accompanied by an older sibling or adult in order to ensure their safety.

Note from the Clinic

We've already had a few students in the clinic over the last two weeks with fever and nausea. To prevent the unnecessary spread of illnesses, the district has instituted the following guidelines to help parents determine if their child should attend school for the day if they have been ill.

We feel that attendance at BISD is extremely important to your child’s success at school. They must be here to learn! There are also important health reasons for keeping your child home from school. These helpful guidelines should be used to determine when your child should stay home from school due to illness:

  • Fever of 100 degrees or higher in the past 24 hours- Your child needs to be free of fever for a full 24 hours without the help of fever reducing medications (such as Tylenol, Motrin or Fever-All) before sending them back to school.
  • Vomiting and/or diarrhea in the past 24 hours
