March 9-13 - Spring Break
March 16: Open House, 6:30-7:30 pm
Reading: We will complete Daily 5 rotations and Ms. Schaum will continue to meet with guided reading groups! During read alouds we start to study dramas and plays. We will act out a story using Reader's Theater.
Writing: We will be writers that go through the entire writing process: Brainstorm, First Draft, Revise, Edit, and Publish. We will use thinking maps to prewrite, then write a first draft, make corrections with a partner, and finally we will publish our pieces. This week we will continue writing expository texts. We will also use a rubric to assess our writing.
Math: We will be continuing to practice our addition and subtraction skills - making them as quick and automatic as possible. We will continue to work on addition and subtraction problem solving skills.
Science: We will launch our To the Moon and Back PBL!
Social Studies: We will be learning about Texas symbols, the pledge, and our motto.
PBL: We are launching our To the Moon and Back PBL with the Planetarium visit on Tuesday, March 17.
