8/22 Back to School News
Dear Young Families,
The beginning of the school year is almost here. Young staff have been working very hard in preparation for the first day of school on September 3.
We know that the start of this school year is different in that we are beginning the year remotely. We can't wait to see the smiling faces of children every day. We are very excited to reconnect with students and families. During the beginning weeks of the school year, Young staff are devoting a significant amount of time establishing relationships with students and families. This will lay the foundation for a learning community that is responsive to students' needs.
During our learning time together social emotional and academic needs of students will be addressed. Young staff members are collaborating and learning together about additional tools and strategies to provide Young children with a supportive, encouraging and caring virtual learning environment. Instructional schedules are being developed that will include daily class meetings, large and small group instructional periods, opportunities for individual connections with students and parents as well as art, music, and physical education.
The Young staff are here to support the Young School community. We recognize the importance of effective and consistent communication between home and school. In addition we value the partnership of teachers and parents working together to give our students an enriching and challenging learning experience.
Please know that we also understand that parents are supporting their children attending school from home while balancing work requirements and obligations. Email us or leave a message on our voicemail with any questions or concerns that you may have. We are here to assist in any way that we can.
We can't wait to see you soon via Zoom. Please reach out to me with any questions.
Identifying and setting up a learning spot at home is important for creating a smooth back to school transition. As you and your child(ren) set up your learning spot at home, please email pictures to me. I would love to see the wonderful things that our families are doing to prepare for the start of the school year.
Sincerely,
Ms. Adrienne Morgan
