College & Career Center

Sherise Portia, College and Career Counselor
  • Hi, my name is Sherise Ebony Porchia! I was born and raised in beautiful Boise, Idaho. An interesting fact about me is that I graduated from Centennial High School! Centennial’s community is like no other and I am excited to continue to be a part of it. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from Chico State University while playing basketball there. In the Spring of 2020 I graduated from Boise State University with my Masters in Counseling. Last year, I was an Academic Counselor for Centennial but now I am the College and Career Counselor, serving all students. I am thrilled to be in this new position and look forward to working with the stellar students, parents, and staff we have here at Centennial!

    For this year:

I can’t wait to present some tips and tricks on how to be a successful student and an overall well-rounded individual. Last year was not what anyone expected but this year amazing opportunities will be had at Centennial.

I am creating a job board so any student (9th-12th) who is currently looking for a job, can stop by the Career Center for more details.

Seniors will be trained on SCOIR during Senior Presentations in their English class. SCOIR is new and it will be used to request college transcripts. If you would like to connect with me, you can reach me at or request an appointment through the CHS Counseling Staff website.

    In the near future:

Look for information going out regarding FAFSA/Financial Aid Night, College Fairs, and College and Career recruiter visits.
