A Summer Classroom Beating the Heat with Tales2Go!
Katherine Orlando uses Tales2Go year-round. This summer, she said,
"...once again the kids are loving Tales2Go. We are using it during breakfast as whole group read alouds as well as during our literacy center rotations (some have even asked during free choice to listen!). They have become hooked on many of your series. The current favorites are Boxcar Children, Encyclopedia Brown, and Geronimo Stilton...During our whole group read-aloud discussion (we are reading Stuart Little), I asked the class if they knew what arithmetic meant. One of my lower readers who has difficulty with vocabulary and expression, raised his hand and said, "It means math. In the Weird School we read, they taught us that." I could hear murmurs from other kids agreeing as well as the me too signal. I was so impressed/pleased to hear that he was not only listening to our morning story as well as had retained that vocabulary word."
Thanks, Katherine, for sharing this with us!
