Governor Announces: All Schools Closed for the Rest of the Year
Hello District 103 Community,
Governor Pritzker announced today, April 17, 2020, that all Illinois schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. Although in-person learning has been suspended, I assure you our entire staff remains committed to learning and engaging with all students through remote learning, as well as continuing with our food distribution program. No one wished for this to occur, yet we understand it is in the best interest for the health and safety of our community.
With this announcement, there are many questions you may have, such as: How do I pick up and return materials to and from school? What about celebrations and activities that occur at the end of the year? How will this affect summer school? Will there be opportunities to see our classmates and teachers at some point before the start of school in the fall? The district will be working on answering these and other questions in the next few weeks. As always, we will keep you informed as decisions are made.
I want to thank you all for your amazing partnership and willingness to work together to ensure the health and safety of everyone in D103. I am proud of our community and look forward to the day when we can be together again.
Stay safe,
Scott Warren, Ed.D
