- Ninja Warrior Challenge has started! Students are working together as a class to earn 12 days of perfect attendance! This means if everyone is at school and no one leaves early or checks in late for their class = 1 day! Once they earn 12 days then they can earn even more time for extra days over the 12! Every day counts and the challenge is on! Let's encourage our students to show up and standout every day!
- Mrs. Childress (our new 4th grade teacher) will be having a Meet & Greet for parents on Monday from 6:00-7:00pm.
- Grades 3-5 will be ACT Interim testing on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
- A Parent Night with Drug Prevention specialist, Stephanie Siete, will be on Tuesday, January 15th at 6pm. It will be held at the GHS fine arts building. This is open to all guardians of Greenbrier students.
- If your child will be going home a different way, please call the office before 2:30. This ensures that we have enough time to deliver all our afternoon messages.
- If your child will be going home differently than their usual transportation please send them with a note. If they are riding a different bus, please write the address to the location they will be getting dropped off.
- Car rider parents: Please remember to pull all the way up to the next car in front of you. This allows for us to load 7 students at a time.
- Morning car rider Parents: Please remember to pull all the way up to PAW 1 ... this will allow for seven cars to drop off at once. Thank you for helping our car rider line run smoothly.
- Parents please remember that morning car drop off begins at 7:30 a.m.
- Cell phones are not allowed to be used in vehicles on school campus when children are present.

Ninja Warrior Attendance Challenge!!! EVERY DAY COUNTS .. Show UP and StandOUT
Every class is working to get 12 days of perfect attendance for their classroom. This means when everyone in their class is at school and no one is tardy or checks out early that counts as 1 day. For every five days over the 12 days they can earn more time on the course.
Everyday counts for our students and we want them to be at school every day! The challenge is on!
Springhill Shares the Love ... of Reading
TAP IT, MAP IT, ZAP IT
This activity helps students to be able to break apart words into individual sounds which will help them to be better spellers and readers! It also helps them to see that each sound in a word must be represented!
This would be a fun one to try at home!

Standout Award
From Mrs. Berley:
I would like to pass the Springhill Standout Award to Mrs. Strickland! Anytime I see her, she has a smile on her face and a kind word to say. I can feel the passion she has for her job and her students in each conversation we have. It is truly a blessing to work with someone who remains positive and smiling even on the most exhausting of days. You deserve this award simply because you are not only a standout teacher, but a standout person altogether!
Fun in Enrichment with Mrs. Uekman
First graders had hands-on experiences with properties of light and how it travels by using shadow puppets!
