WHAT IS SAVE? WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

S.A.V.E. (Student Advocates for Voter Empowerment) is a student group involved in voter empowerment projects that benefit its members, school, and community. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that introduces and educates high school students about the democratic process as well as promote political awareness and encourage student involvement. We attend and participate in events, such as phone banking, town hall, forums, voter registration drives, etc. The club offers community service, political education, networking opportunities, leadership training, communication skills, and a chance for a FREE summer trip to Sacramento! Obviously this club offers the chance to meet and interact with notable people as well as the chance to build connects for future internships and jobs!

SAVE chapters are currently operating at high schools in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California, including Arroyo! All the chapters collaborate with each other to discuss and debate on their political views, opinions, and learn about current events and issues.

So...WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

  1. You make new friends.
  2. It is helpful for Government classes (esp. AP) and Speech&Debate (I believe you can get NFL points).
  3. There will be FREE FOOD provided at every town hall.
  4. You DON'T have to anything about politics, but you will learn something about it.
  5. You will have the opportunity to meet notable people.
  6. It's a great resume booster, especially for college/university.
  7. You can get community service hours (and political hours for AP Gov).
  8. You have a chance to go on a FREE trip to Sacramento for 4 days!

And so much more!
