High School Course Selection & Future Planning Night!
This event is for all current students in grades 9-11 and their parents. There will be a course selection presentation followed by a college admissions presentation. The college admissions presentation is highly recommended for Juniors and their parents, but all grade levels are welcome.
Please note: Current 8th graders will have a separate event on February 6th.

Freshman RESPECT Retreat - Coming in April
In our ongoing effort to create a safe and caring culture here at PWHS, we are hosting a Youth Frontiers Respect Retreat in April for all of our Freshman. The retreat will focus on creating a more positive school community by engaging students in a variety of activities that enhance self-confidence, empathy, and connectedness. AODA Coalition-Parent University Program for Spring
Stay tuned for more information as we plan for the spring parent and student program. Our keynote speaker will be Mr. Mike McGowan who will talk to parents and students about communication on difficult topics like alcohol and drugs. The program will also include break out sessions on the dangers of vaping and mental health support. More information to come soon!

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day where everyone has the opportunity to do something nice for a complete stranger, a family member or a coworker. Mental Health Minute - Stressed Out Teens
Anyone who spends time with teenagers can tell you that teens are more stressed out than ever. In fact, recent studies show that the rates of anxiety in children ages 13-17 have more than quintupled since the Great Depression. There are many reasons for the increase including, but not limited to: less sleep, less downtime, increased technology, changing family dynamics, the push for academic achievement, etc. Below is an interesting article on the science behind student stress and how resiliency and a growth mindset are critical tools teens need to manage the inevitable setbacks they will face.
