Attendance

It is each individual teacher's responsibility to take attendance within the first ten minutes of each class period including homeroom. As a professional, we are expected to perform this responsibility on a regular and consistent basis (performance standard 9). The leadership team will meet with individuals who are struggling to meet this expectation.

Jordan MS Dedication

Our dedication will be on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. This is a large community event celebrating our school. We have several opportunities for everyone to get involved in this event. We need individuals who are creative and can help make our decorations. Individuals who love to make pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate with gold sprinkles. How about building an Oreo tower? Maybe you like driving a golf cart? Maybe you enjoy mingling with The Jordan Family? We need your talents. We have opportunities on Saturday, October 17th to help decorate, set up, and cook. Please use this link to share your talents, RSVP, and be a part of a great event! http://goo.gl/forms/iapTp9772q

Early Release Conference Data

Please use the link below to complete a 3-questions survey by Monday. I only need ONE submission per team, and I'll need to know the number of conferences held on early release days and the number held on other days. Thanks!

Student Safety

Students are not to be sent out of class and asked to report to the grade level office for discipline purposes. If you have a disruptive student and need support, please push your call button. Often, our offices do not have anyone available to receive unannounced students. This is a safety concern, as the students are unsupervised and the receiving party is not aware of the student in transit.

Academic Contracts

Please make sure to notify parents who were unable to attend a conference and acquire a parent signature. Upon collecting all your parent signatures, please turn in your academic contracts to your grade level leadership team member. The assistant principals will review the contracts and sign. We will file the originals in the permanent records. If you would like a copy, please ask your grade level clerk to make you a set after all signatures have been acquired.

GTES Professional Learning Opportunities

This professional learning is designed to provide a focused learning opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of the Gwinnett Teacher Effectiveness System (GTES) Standards.

Participants will engage in interactive activities to aide in defining expectations, building knowledge, and applying that knowledge to practical school-based situations.

During these courses participants will: explore the key characteristics of the standards, examine the rubric connected with the GTES, complete a self-assessment identifying current practices, observe teachers in action, and identify next steps for their practice.

To see the full list of GTES Standard Trainings login to the GCPS Portal and select the PD&E icon. To begin searching and registering for the courses type GTES in the Search Box.

Coke Rewards

We are a Coke Rewards school, so save your bottle tops and carton tops from the 12 packs. It is easy, you can drop off your items in a collection box located in the cafe and mailroom. Or, you can make an account and donate your points to Jordan MS!

Box Tops for Education

Our Care Team supports students in need. At this point, we are extremely limited in our direct support to students, as funding is through donations and fundraising. You can donate $0.10 each time you cut out a Box Top and drop it in our collection box. It is easy and adds up quickly! Please encourage your students and families to support this fundraiser. We have collection boxes in each grade level office and the mailroom.

Donors Choose Katrina Roman

We have several students who want to be involved in the fine arts program, but have financial hardships. We also have a very limited number of instruments available for students to use during instructional time. Please consider supporting Mrs. Roman's project on Donors Choose to purchase two more cellos for her classroom. Matching funds are available for a few more days! Double your donation, now!
