As part of my yearly evaluation, the district asks parents/families to fill out a survey regarding my leadership. Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this SURVEY.

WALK & BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY

At Guest Elementary School we are always looking for ways to have a positive impact on our students and our community outside the classroom. On May 9, 2018, we will celebrate Bike to School Day with thousands of other schools throughout the nation.

Bike to School Day was established after the overwhelming success of Walk to School Day, which has been an annual international event since 1997. Bike to School Day is a great way to bring together school and community leaders to encourage more walkable and bikeable communities.

While walking to school was commonplace just a generation ago, traffic jams around schools are now the norm. Students are losing an opportunity for regular physical activity that is good for their health by riding to school in cars. On Bike to School Day, students have a special opportunity to celebrate the fun of walking and biking.

Please join students, parents and community members for our school’s Bike to School Day.

wlcsd communicates on district budget and school funding

Walled Lake Schools has been reducing and struggling with funding for more than 17 years. This challenge is caused by declining revenue received from the State of Michigan as well as an overall reduction in our student population. Please take some time to watch this video on the WLCSD budget. Please open this link on the School Finance Research Collaborative. It is an important study on our state’s approach to funding public education. You can all sign up to support this project. Lastly, you can write your legislators about adequate funding for public education.

FOUNDATION FOR EXCELLENCE 9th ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

The Walled Lake Schools’ Foundation for Excellence invites you to support their 9th Annual Golf Scramble set for June 25 at Edgewood Country Club, Commerce Twp.

This fun-filled community event will further the Foundation’s mission to enrich K-12 classrooms across the WL District within the areas of literacy & leadership, community & diversity, science, technology & the arts and District programs and support the FFE annual grant program.

Join FFE on the green, be a proud sponsor, and/or provide a donation for outing's raffle/silent auction:
