A Message from Mrs. Geiler
Dear Parents,
This year is going to be an exciting year in the Skaggs library! There will be so many fun opportunities in store for everyone during this school year with many of the events already being planned!
- The library program will include promoting the high interest fiction and nonfiction reading materials.
- Early literacy exposure is so important, therefore, I will be doing my very best to get every student “hooked on reading” by recommending specific reading materials through lessons, book promotions, and a variety of programming ideas.
- The latest and most exciting new titles for our readers, including quality non-fiction to help meet curriculum requirements, will be added to the collection.
- Students will learn parts of a book, story components, and develop a love for reading.
- Maker Space every other week during library class.
- I will be working with classroom teachers to help infuse technology and research skills into all areas of the curriculum.
- There are many eBooks and digital audio books that may be checked out 24/7.
- Follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@SkaggsElem).
- If you would like to volunteer to help in the library, please let me know, I would love to have you!
I am extremely excited about the coming school year and I am committed to making the library exceptional at Skaggs!
Thanks,
Nicole Geiler

LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS
Are you looking for a place to volunteer this school year? The Skaggs Library needs you! Duties include checking in and checking out books, shelving books, and working on special projects throughout the year. Best of all, you get to see our students exhibit their love of reading and learning first-hand. If interested, please contact our library volunteer coordinator, Lijuan Song, at lijuansong2010@gmail.com
Also, please plan on attending our library volunteer orientation on Friday, August 26th, at either 8:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. Thank you in advance for making the Skaggs Library the best it can be for our students!
