Leadership Message

Hi, my name is Mya, I’m in grade 4 and this is my 5th year at St.John XXIII. One of the reasons I love my school is we get to be closer to God. I’m on the Healthy Living team.

Being a leader means to me that you help others by being a model, making good decisions, and being a good person. Being a leader to me means that I need to model for other kids how to follow the rules and share your gifts.

I think it’s important for the grade fours to be leaders because it helps us learn how to public speak, plan school activities, work together, and share our ideas.

I’ve learned how to feel more comfortable talking in front of others and sharing my gifts and talents with our community.

My favourite part of being a student leader is I get to help form my school and share my ideas with others.

Sincerely,

Mya

Pre-Kindergarten Update 2020-2021

Our Inclusive Pre-Kindergarten program at Saint John XXIII will not be sustainable to continue for the 2020-2021 school year. At this time, we are exploring a possible partnership with a local, independent playschool program in our building. As soon as we have more information, we will update our school community.

We are working diligently with our EICS Inclusive Learning Teams in response to the Early Learning funding framework (PUF) released from the government yesterday. We will be communicating with our current families as soon as we have more information to help navigate supports for next year.

We are so proud of the incredible work and foundational learning our Pre-K team has provided for the past few years. Sincere appreciation to Ms. Dexter and her team for all they have done for our SJ Pre-K kiddos!

We LOVE to Read...Who was it? Who will it be?

This week our Mystery Reader was Mrs. Doderai, Early Learning Music Specialist. Mrs. Doderai shared a beautiful story based on the famous song, What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.

See if you can guess who next year's first Mystery Reader is?

Our Grade 3 Team led our Ash Wednesday celebration beautifully! Thanks to Father Kris and our parents & grandparents who joined us

Thanks Laudith for all you do to keep our Apple Program running for our kids!

Digital Citizenship and Safety for Kids-Cyberbullying

Each week, we will be sharing some information, websites, and tips for helping our kids navigate the world of technology and on-line safety and etiquette. We will pull items from our Parenting in the Digital Age located on our EICS website, linked here which has links to tips, checklists, and information to support parents.
