3 Keys To a Successful Return
Wear Your Mask
Clean Your Hands
Spacing and Distance
When will my student return to school? Will everyone come back at once?
- Students in the Phased-in option will start the first three days back with 1/3 of the students each day so we have more time and space to learn and practice daily routines and procedures.
- On Wednesday, October 7th only students whose last names start with the letters A-H will come to school
- On Thursday, October 8th only students whose last names start with the letters I-Q will come to school
- On Friday, October 9th only students whose last names start with the letters R-Z will come to school
- All elementary Phased-in students will return to school 5 days per week beginning Monday, October 12th.
Will there be bussing? What is going on with parent drop off and pick up?
- The bus will run its route beginning on Wednesday, October 7th.
- It is very important that your child follows the same arrival and dismissal plan you set up every day for school. If they are to take the bus to and from school on regular days, they should start this on their very first day. We will be teaching safety procedures so they will need to be there to learn them.

Arrival at Maple Grove
Major Change - no arrival before 8:30 AM
Another major change is we are asking families to say good-bye on the sidewalk on Bottsford. Students will be able to enter the school immediately. Families will not be able to walk their children to the door or into the building.
Thank you in advance for assisting us with these changes.

Office Hours/Changes in Departure Plans
If you need to make a change in your student's departure plans, we ask that you make those changes by emailing Ms. Tsiopelas at htsiopelas@greenfield.k12.wi.us.
Other Changes
- Water Bottles - We will not be using our bubblers this year, so all students are asked to bring a water bottle.
- No Birthday Treats - We will not be able to pass out birthday treats to students in the classroom at this time.
- Increased Cleaning - We are expanding our custodial staff to have more cleaning of "high-touch" areas during the school day.
- Music and Art will be held in the classroom instead of the music and art rooms to help separate students. PE (gym) will be held outside whenever the weather permits.
- No Singing - While Music class will continue, we will not be singing. This limit on singing includes singing in the classroom and our school song.
- No Volunteers or guests in the building - Unfortunately, we will not be able to welcome volunteers nor guests this year. Again, this is being done to help with distancing and separation in the school.
Dismissal
Major Change - Families will pick up students on Bottsford Avenue
Dismissal Procedures
- Students going to Kids Connection after school care will be sent to the cafeteria to meet their Kids Connection supervisors.
- Students riding the bus home will be dismissed to their bus.
- Students being picked up by their family will be called to the cars. The first students called will be from the cars parked the farthest West on Bottsford.
- Staff will use radios to alert students in classrooms to meet their ride. We are asking families to put a sign (see example below) in their passenger side window to help us call out students.
- Families should help strap students into car seats (if needed)
- We asking cars to continue West on Bottsford after picking up students. Please no U-turns.
- After cars and busses have been dismissed, we will dismiss walkers to walk home.
Kids Connection - Before and After School Care
There will not be Kids Connection daycare next week Oct 5th- 9th.
