November 2-14: Hornung has teamed up with Bountiful Harvest to help provide for those in need this Thanksgiving. As a school we are collecting food donations to provide Thanksgiving dinners. Each class will have a milk crate for students to put donated items in. The class that collects the most donations wins a prize! Monetary donations are also accepted and count double! Cash or Venmo @hornungpto (include “Bountiful Harvest”, child’s name and teacher).
We are also excited to announce that we are going to be making grade level t-shirts for field trips and field day. We are having a contest to see who can design the Hornung ‘H’ for our shirts. All students are requested to send in the attached form.
These flyers are in mailboxes for Friday folders as well.
You can join the Hornung Elementary PTO group on FaceBook. We’ve a new website: www.hornungpto.com.
Please consider setting Hornung as your rewards recipient for Amazon Smile and Kroger Rewards.

Counselor Corner!
I am so excited to continue working with students this year to help facilitate and promote growth and learning! I am providing classroom lessons, small group activities, and individual support this school year.
As a reminder, your school counselor is here to support children in all areas of mental wellness that impacts their success in the classroom. We work with individuals as needs arise. If your child is struggling at school, we will work together with the classroom teacher to determine whether or not school-based services would be beneficial. We may also be able to offer resources or contacts if your family believes that outside support will best meet your child's or families needs.
The Elementary Counselor Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have, and I will do my best to support your child.
